Our Favorite Things To Do
Want a picture-perfect view of the fair? Be sure to ride the State Fair Flyer that rides over the entire fairgrounds! One of the fair’s most popular attractions, you can see all the beautiful fair lights, plus a bird's eye view of the the tractor pull!
Partake in some of the best fair food around! Be sure to try some of the new food options this year like the Bacon Mac & Cheese Sundae and the Bacon Berry Cookie Dough on a Stick. Yum! Download the New Foods Map »
It wouldn’t be a successful fair trip without going to the Antique Farm Machinery barn located near the Village of Yesteryear. On display are vintage farm equipment that tell quite an educational story!
Curious where milk comes from? Attend the Mobile Dairy Classroom right beside the Jim Graham building to learn and appreciate cows and how they play a vital role in our lives!
Make your way into the Jim Graham building to watch the beef/dairy cows being shown by local farmers. You will see some of the best, most high quality cows while you’re there.
Travel Back in Time... Don’t forget to endeavor down to the Village of Yesteryear to step back in time for a moment and watch the talented crafters demonstrate how people used to make clothes, rugs, furniture, and utensils back in the olden days!
Before you leave, walk through the Heritage Circle to the Cider House and warm yourself up with a perfect cup of fresh, hot apple cider while touring the tobacco barns and watching the Blacksmiths make unique pieces. Or if you are in the mood for a sweet treat, try out the local homemade ice cream. Last year, we caught a glimpse of ice cream being made with two John Deere motors!
