Blackland Farm Managers Association Summer Tour

Quality Equipment is excited to be attending the 54th annual Blackland Farm Managers Tour this year in Plymouth, NC at the Tidewater Research Station!

Founded in 1970, the BFMA is comprised of 5 counties: Beaufort, Hyde, Tyrrell, Carteret, and Washington Counties. The association strives to educate a wide variety of farmers to better understand what is needed to maintain the health in their soil to grow thriving crops. Due to a high rise in development, soil deficiencies, and environmental issues, now more than ever it is vital for farmers to know everything about the soil they are growing their crops on.

The host for the BFMA Summer Tour is the Tidewater Research Station. Sitting on over 1,500 acres that contain ponds, woods, crops, research labs, and more, this research station holds a wide variety of projects in horticulture, aquaculture, and agriculture.

At this year's tour, NC State Extension Specialists will talk about the most recent research in the following topics:

Corn and Soybean Production
Insect/Weed Management
Disease Management
Water Management.

Registration starts at 7AM, and the wagons depart at 8:30AM. Breakfast and lunch will be provided, and pesticide and CCA Credits will also be available. Event Schedule
