AutoPathTM System
Automatically create guideline lines from crop row data.
Creating and managing guidance lines in standing crops can be difficult. The AutoPathTM system tackles these challenges by creating guidance lines using the actual location of each crop row.
During strip till, banded fertilizer applications, or planting, the crop row locations are created for that crop year. This information is documented and saved in John Deere Operations Center and is referred to as the source operation.
During the source operation (either strip till or planting), an implement-mounted receiver records the exact location of each crop row, as applied. This data builds a map of every crop row, which is used by AutoPathTM to create accurate guidance lines.
After the source operation is completed, AutoPathTM automatically creates these guidance lines for the entire field for later passes. These guidance lines cover external boundaries, internal boundaries, headlands, and crop rows. With AutoPathTM, you get to work quickly and confidently using accurate guidance lines based on the crop row location.

In-Field Data Sharing
Use equipment and people even better with Gen 4 In-Field Data Sharing.
Increase the efficiency of your field operations with Gen 4 In-Field Data Sharing by monitoring the operations of up to six tractors, sprayers, nutrient applicators, or combines on one screen.
Equipment can work together at the same time or use maps created earlier by another machine to perform the following:
- Share as-applied maps and guidance lines between machines used for tillage, planting, and harvesting. Fertilizer and crop protection applications require an additional match on products to make sure the right information is being shared.
- Improve product placement and eliminate over-application by shutting off planter rows, seeding sections, sprayer nozzles, and fertilizer spreaders or ranks when crossing over areas already covered by another machine.
- Monitor the quality of job being performed on other machines.
Required Receiver Updates
StarFire iTC receivers no longer function, as of 01 February 2021. StarFire iTC receivers continue to operate in WAAS only until approximately 2026 or when the US GPS satellite constellation P(Y) code is retired and may continue to be used for yield mapping.
In early August 2020, the StarFire 20-2 software update was made available. This software update, unlike many others, is a “Mandatory Update” for both StarFire 6000 and StarFire 3000 receivers and includes software fixes plus a few new features. The most important part of the software update is that it positions the current StarFire 6000 and StarFire 3000 receivers to continue operating into the future.
